At one point or another, every parent hears their child say, “I didn’t meant to” or “I didn’t try to.” Sometimes all that is needed is a nod and a, “I know. It’s okay.” Other times something more is called for. One of my favorite responses was “You didn’t try not to.”
Biblical references do not explain the existence or non-existence of god(s). Only science reveals facts that allow us to reach logical conclusions.
Sometimes it takes a while to get back into routine after the holidays. I totally forgot a very important holiday that falls between Christmas and New Year's.
Pro choice is just a shorter phrase for "Mind Your Own Business." It is neither pro-life nor pro-abortion. It as much about birth control as it is about deciding whether or not to end a pregnancy or continue one. Here's why:
A miscarriage left me with the understanding that abortion would never be a good choice for me. Even so, I believe the decision to end a pregnancy or carry it to term—yes or no—belongs solely to the woman it concerns and to nobody else.
At the DNC Clinton said she will be President of us all. Maybe someone needs to remind her of that.
The Washington Post reported that at a recent fundraiser, Hillary Clinton said, "You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump's supporters into what I call the 'basket of deplorables'. Right? The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic — you name it."
As the House Democrats held the floor of the House of Representatives during the sit-in for common sense gun legislation, I remembered the old slogan, "Power to the people." Until the sit-in, it seemed Americans were powerless to do anything about gun violence in this country. The sit-in gave us hope.
The second amendment doesn't need appealing. We are hunter gatherers that need to hunt up and gather some gun sense. The second amendment needs to be revised and put into specific terms.
While congress stalls on legalizing marijuana, big pharma continues to lead both consumers and the medical community down the garden path of designer diseases and their companion drugs. Like other crops that have suffered through corporate greed and mismanagement, putting the fate of Marijuana into the hands of big pharma will most likely hinder its progress more than help it. Because big pharma cannot claim development of marijuana, they have no promise of financial gain and therefore no reason to execute an unbiased and comprehensive study.
Atheism isn't a choice. It's a realization and once I fully understood that realization, my lack of belief became a cause for celebration. Atheists are often portrayed as doubting, unhappy people, but actually losing religion is a joyous thing, the real light at the end of the tunnel.
