Why Pro-life is NOT Pro Life

Unborn

A miscarriage left me with the understanding that abortion would never be a good choice for me. Even so, I believe the decision to end a pregnancy or carry it to term—yes or no—belongs solely to the woman it concerns and to nobody else.

President of Us All

Man in trashbasket

At the DNC Clinton said she will be President of us all. Maybe someone needs to remind her of that.
The Washington Post reported that at a recent fundraiser, Hillary Clinton said, "You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump's supporters into what I call the 'basket of deplorables'. Right? The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic — you name it."

Grass Roots Gun Sense

too much going on in this world for us to hibernate

As the House Democrats held the floor of the House of Representatives during the sit-in for common sense gun legislation, I remembered the old slogan, "Power to the people." Until the sit-in, it seemed Americans were powerless to do anything about gun violence in this country. The sit-in gave us hope.

Gun Sense: We Need It

We need to send the right guy

The second amendment doesn't need appealing. We are hunter gatherers that need to hunt up and gather some gun sense. The second amendment needs to be revised and put into specific terms.

Pharma by Design:
Designer Diseases and Drugs

Cannabis is illegal because it can treat cancer, PTSD, seizures, anxiety, glaucoma, and depression which means no money for pharmaceutical companies

While congress stalls on legalizing marijuana, big pharma continues to lead both consumers and the medical community down the garden path of designer diseases and their companion drugs. Like other crops that have suffered through corporate greed and mismanagement, putting the fate of Marijuana into the hands of big pharma will most likely hinder its progress more than help it. Because big pharma cannot claim development of marijuana, they have no promise of financial gain and therefore no reason to execute an unbiased and comprehensive study.

Freedom from Religion:
The Light at the End of the Tunnel

light at the end of the tunnel

Atheism isn't a choice. It's a realization and once I fully understood that realization, my lack of belief became a cause for celebration. Atheists are often portrayed as doubting, unhappy people, but actually losing religion is a joyous thing, the real light at the end of the tunnel.

Deposing America

crowd of multi-ethnic people

We have always been a country that adapts to the needs of a diverse population. We find our strength in embracing the best traditions from every culture. This one, strong, uniquely American tradition makes us one people, “We the People.” If we are proud to become a country of “white only” then we truly have lost our way.

Too Clean: What We May Be Leaving Behind

cleaning products

We might be just a little OC about clean, to a point that if we downsized our carbon footprint to a triple extra-small, someone would still be at it with a wipe.

Transgender Toilets: Pumping Out the Septic

toilet paper roll

This latest round of who can and cannot use the bathroom is the most absurd notion that state governments have raised to date. Aside from wasting taxpayer dollars on unnecessary legislation, these laws are a danger to public safety.

Planned Parenthood

Although ending a pregnancy would never be my choice and I‘m past the age to have to worry about it, I do believe that every woman has the right to choose. In fact, the right to choose is paramount for me. I don‘t want government telling me what I can and cannot do unless it endangers or causes harm to another.
