Writing a privacy statement is one of the most difficult pieces of writing because they all sound alike.
One thing I have learned in this business is that building trust is first in importance. With that said, here is what you can expect when you contact Shyflower.com.
First of all, never share your personal information with anyone; Most privacy statements add, "unless required by law" but in 15 years of doing business on the web, the law has never asked for information from any of my clients. In addition to your name, email, address, and phone number(s), I don't share the contents of what you send me with anyone without your explicit permission.
When you sign up to receive News from Shyflower.com, I won't fill up your inbox with trivia or ads. You'll get news about my books, reviews of books I've enjoyed, and the occasional extraordinary blog post. I'm a believer in less is more.
When you contact me for writing or editorial services, I'll generally reply within 48 hours. If we don't get together on your project, you won't hear from again unless you contact me again. I won't spam your inbox with special offers or ads for other services.
Comments and Complaints
When you use the contact form to report an error or make a comment, I'll respond as soon as I can-- usually within 48 hours. I will only respond directly to the issue. If you've found a problem, I'll let you know what I can do to solve it. If you send a compliment, I'll return a short thank you. You won't receive any ads or offers from me, unless you have asked for them in your contact email.
