"When they go low, we go high."Michelle Obama
Follow that advice you will never let the low-lifes bring you down to their level.
In her new book Facism, Former Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright writes,
What Trump is doing is making America seem like a victim. Everything is somebody else's fault: Countries are taking advantage of us. The Mexicans are sending drug dealers. Countries are not paying their dues. The trading system is unfair.
I don't see America as a victim. I see America as the most powerful country in the world that has a role to play, standing up for democratic ideals and human rights across the board.
Exactly. There is no need to make America great again. It always has been great. It is just the whiners and complainers that can't see that.
Unfortunately it is true. Misery DOES love company. That is why it is important to remember Michelle Obama's words, "When they go low, we go high."
We Americans have always been proud of our government. We complain about it, but we understand the privileges— in fact, the rights granted to us by our Constitution and its Bill of Rights.
During the last half century we have seen remarkable, progressive change not only in law but change in our attitudes towards minorities, towards women, towards religion, and towards each others' personal gender and sexual preferences.
Whatever demagogues would have us believe about our country, if we cannot have pride in our government, we can be proud of each other until the time our government works not to make America great again, but one that recognizes and builds on the greatness we have achieved throughout our history and works to uphold the principles that We the People believe in.
